2014-Aug-13 01:18 - Week 7 NFL Predictions

Week 7 NFL Predictions

If you are looking for game picks for week seven of the 2010 NFL season then clickthis link. Welcome to my week 7 NFL predictions, the latest in my efforts to aid sports gamblers. However, I don't do point spreads in my picks. But if you want to know who I would pick, give me the point spread in the comments below, and the game in question. I will reply within 24 hours with point spread predictions for the games asked about. I did go 8 6 in my week 6 NFL predictions with still leaves me a respectable 63 25 for the 2009 NFL gambling season. Remember these are straight predictions for pro football games suitable for an NFL office pool. But as I said, ask me a question about handicapping a point spread game and I will do so in the comments. As always these are free NFL game predictions for the 2009 season.

Indianapolis at Saint Louis

The Rams will probably win a game this season, but not this week. Peyton Manning won't let the Colts let down for the Rams. Indianapolis 31, St. Louis 24.

New England at Tampa Bay

Look for the Patriots to try to establish the run against this poor defense. My free week 7 NFL prediction is the Patriots 24, Bucs 10.

Green Bay at Cleveland

The Packers are one of those teams who may make the playoffs, and may not. I would like to see Cleveland find ways to get Cribbs the ball on offense, as he is their best weapon. My free week 7 NFL prediction is Green Bay 24, Cleveland 10.

Minnesota at Pittsburgh

You hear lots about Brett Favre and the Vikings success. However this is a running team and Adrian Peterson is the key. The Vikings rank 17th in passing yards and 9th in running yards so far in the 2009 NFL season. Their defense is strong against the run and weak against the pass.

The Steelers are actually ranked 2nd in the NFL in passing offense! They are ranked 15th in running the ball which is the opposite of how they want their offense to work. The key is the Steeler Defense which ranks 2nd against the run. Of course they have not faced Adrian Peterson yet.

Close game and Jimmie Ward Youth Jersey I am going with the home team. Big Ben lights up the Vikings with 300 yards and 3 scores. Peterson keeps it close with a dose of Brett Favre. Pittsburgh 28, Minnesota 24. I do expect one of you sports gamblers to ask a point spread question about this game.

San Francisco at Houston

Two teams that are hard to predict results for in the 2009 NFL season. We will see the 49er's debut of Michael Crabtree against the Texans but don't expect him to be a factor. When in doubt go with the home team. Texans 27, 49er's 17.

San Diego Carlos Hyde Youth Jersey at Kansas City

This could be a trap game for the underachieving Chargers. But the Chiefs are just so bad this year (and I am a Chiefs fan). San Diego 21, Kansas City 7.

Buffalo at Carolina

Battle of the bad teams, the Bills and Panthers. With all the Buffalo transplants in Charlotte it may seem like a home game for the Bills. Carolina managed to win despite playing badly in a couple of recent games. One more win brings them to 3 3.

The Panthers do rank 2nd against the pass on defense. But mostly because teams are too busy running on them to throw the ball. They added Tank Tyler to try to beef up the defensive line, so they are still trying.

The Bills are one of the few teams worse than the Panthers at stopping the run. Fantasy owners should use any Buffalo or Carolina running back in week 7. Carolina wins a close one 17 to 13.

New York Jets at Oakland

The Raiders pulled off a huge upset in beating the Eagles in week 5. The Jets have lost 3 straight as rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez looks like a rookie again. I think the Jets turn it around with a win over Oakland, 27 to 17.

Atlanta at Dallas

Cowboy linebacker gets a crack at his old team when Atlanta comes to town. This is the Cowboys chance to show they can play with the big boys in the NFC. But they struggled against the Chiefs and had to have Miles Austin to bail them out.

Atlanta has made full use of Tony Gonzalez but the team looks out of kilter a bit on offense. I think the Falcon secondary can be had. If nobody tells Romo it's a big game, he can blister them. My week 7 upset pick is Dallas beats Atlanta 31 to 27. Ok maybe it isn't that big of an upset lol.

New Orleans at Miami

The Dolphins will hope their Wildcat can confuse the Saints defense under Greg Williams. If it does not, then it's a long night for the Dolphins. Look for the balanced Saints offense to prove enough. New Orleans 24, Miami 17.

Chicago at Cincinnati

Well the surprising Bengals may have fallen back to earth. This week will show if they can still play good football. Remember the Bengals have beat Baltimore and Pittsburgh this year. I like Cutler but he has few weapons and Forte just can't get going. My free week 7 football prediction is Bengals 17, Bears 13.

2014-Aug-13 01:18 - Top 10 NFL Talent Scouts

Top 10 NFL Talent Scouts

With the draft behind us and most of the big name free agents signed, it's a good time to take a closer look at those who do the drafting and find the free agents.

The NFL, like all sports leagues, is all about talent finding it, signing it Mike Evans Youth Jersey and developing it.

Regardless of what title they wear, General Manager, Player Personnel Director, etc., a good talent spotter is worth his weight in Lombardi Trophies. They make the difference between Super Bowl winners and also rans.

Here are my top 10 of all time.

2. Gil BrandtBrandt is the godfather of modern scouting, being among the first to use computers. He was expert at finding big talent at small schools, like Drew Pearson from the University of Tulsa.

Brandt started with Dallas in 1960, the year the Cowboys were born, and left in 1989, the year Jerry Jones bought the team. Brandt was a major factor at building those Cowboy teams that earned the nickname, "America's Team."

Rooney supervised those drafts, now acknowledged as some of the best in NFL history.

4. Bill PolianPolian has built winners wherever he's been, doesn't matter if it's the NFL, the defunct USFL or even the Canadian Football League.

He built a Buffalo team that went to four consecutive Super Bowls. He nearly took Carolina to the Super Bow in the team's second year, an amazing feat.

5. Ron WolfWolf worked for several teams, and had a hand in drafting players like Ken Stabler, Jack Tatum and Marcus Allen with the Raiders.

But, he may be best known for his work with the Green Bay Packers. He traded for Brett Favre, who was then a backup with the Atlanta Falcons. That turned out OK.

6. George HalasEverybody knows Halas built the Chicago Bears into the "Monsters of the Midway," but did you know Halas was once an outfielder with the New York Yankees?

He recruited Red Grange and converted Sid Luckman from a single wing tailback into the Bears' quarterback. Other great players he found include Johnny Lujack, George Blanda and Bobby Layne.

7. Al DavisLegend has it that Davis signed Lance Alworth to a contract on the field after his final college game, before he had a chance to go to the locker room and change his mind.

That was typical of the aggressive, imaginative Davis, who would do anything to win. He traded Ken Stabler and benched Marcus Allen. He traded his head coach Jon Gruden to Tampa Bay for draft picks and cash, a rare but not unheard of personnel move8. Vince LombardiLombardi is another coaching legend like Walsh. He won five NFL championships with the Packers, and that includes the first two Super Bowls.

But, he also had a keen eye for talent. Lombardi converted Paul Hornung from quarterback to running back. He was among the first to find and give opportunities to great African American and, yes even gay, players unheard of back in that day.

9. Ozzie NewsomeNewsome, who did not miss a game in 13 NFL years as an All Pro tight end with the Browns, is the first African American General Manager in the NFL, and has developed into one of the best.

People actually felt sorry for the Ravens after winning the 2013 Super Bowl, when they lost the heart of their team, but through a smart draft and cagey free agent acquisitions, the Ravens will probably be in the hunt for yet another Super Bowl this year.

10. Bobby BeathardTrue, he drafted Ryan Leaf, but Beathard's personnel moves set up three Washington Super Bowls; he helped construct seven Austin Seferian-Jenkins Youth Jersey teams that made Super Bowl appearances.

2014-Aug-13 01:18 - Ryan Williams will

Ryan Williams will get shot with the Cowboys

It doesn't sound like things are official, but recently cut Arizona Cardinals running backRyan Williamslooks like he'll get a shot with the Dallas Cowboys.

He had a workout with the team Saturday, according to ESPN Dallas, and tweeted to the effect that sure made it sound official.

A second round pick 2011 at No. 38 overall, Williams has gone through all sorts of injury problems since going to the NFL, missing his entire rookie season with a ruptured patella tendon in his right knee and most of 2012with ashoulder injury. He didn't play at all last season, again rehabbing his knee.

Williams, who once held Virginia Tech's single season rushing record, has only 58 carries for 164 rushing yards in his pro career.

Looking for the numbers of former Hokies taken in last week's draft?Kyle Fulleris No. 23 for the Bears,Logan ThomasNo. 6 for the Cardinals andAntone ExumNo. 32 for the Vikings.

Here's an article on Thomas from the Cardinals' website (with some video of Logan at a press conference) in which he says, "I think I'm a lot more ready that people think."

I tweeted this earlier this week but didn't blog it: Fuller signed a $9.687 million deal with the Bears, the first of the first round picks to sign. That figure includes a $5.365 million signing bonus. Collins, who is getting a shot with the Washington Redskins.

It was announced earlier this week that former long time Hokies assistantBilly Hitewould be retiring from his athletic department position at the start of July.

Long time equipment managerLester Karlinis also among those retiring (or semi retiring in his case). This has been known for a while. Anyway, columnistBob Molinaroof the Virginian Pilot wrote about the Norfolk native here.

Former Virginia TechathleticdirectorJim Weaverwas named an AD of the year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. He was one of four FBS athletic directors to be honored. Weaver, who spent more than 17 years at Virginia Tech, retired at the end of last year Dee Ford Youth Jersey for health reasons.

East Tennessee State hired former Hokies quarterbacks coach and play callerMike O'Cainto be its offensive coordinator. ETSU dropped football in 2003 for financial reasons but is bringing the program back in 2015. Former UNC coachCarl Torbushis the head coach.

Nothing earth shattering in this CBS Sports piece byJeremy Fowlerin whichFrank Beamersays the Hokies might go through some"growing pains" in 2014. Frank essentially said the same thing after the spring game.

Still, it's interesting to hear a coach be . well, so frank about the team's outlook next year. And to be fair, so much depends on the quarterback. IfMichael Breweris good, the Hokies could be too. If not, then yes, it's looking like a long season.

And while we're on the subject of looking way too far in the future, CBS Sports'Jerry Palmprojects the Hokies to go to the Belk Bowl this year to face Florida. The SEC is a new pairing for Charlotte. That's not the most glamorous location, but it'd be easy to get to and it'd be an interesting opponent.

Other ACC/Notre Dame projections: Phillip Gaines Youth Jersey

Sun Miami vs. Washington

Music City North Carolina vs. Mississippi State

Independence Louisville vs. Western Kentucky

Buffalo Wild Wings Notre Dame vs. Arizona

2014-Aug-13 01:18 - owner of Manchester

owner of Manchester United

He was 85.

The Allen Robinson Youth Jersey Bucs said Glazer died on Wednesday.

The reclusive Palm Beach businessman had been in failing health since April 2006 when a pair of strokes left him with impaired speech and limited mobility in his right arm and leg.

Glazer raised his profile in 2005 with a $1.47 billion takeover of Manchester United that was bitterly opposed by fans of one of the world's richest soccer clubs. Before that, his unobtrusive management style helped transform the Bucs from a laughingstock into a model franchise that in 2003 won the Super Bowl 48 21 over the Oakland Raiders.

Born August 25, 1928, in Rochester, New York, the son of a watch parts salesman, Glazer began working for the family business when he was 8 and took over the operation as a teenager when his father died in 1943.

As president and CEO of First Allied Corp, the holding company for the family business interests, he invested in mobile home parks, restaurants, food service equipment, marine protein, television stations, real estate, natural gas and oil production and other ventures. In March 2010, Forbes ranked him as tied for the world's 400th richest person, estimating his net worth at $2.4 billion. The magazine's separate ranking of Americans put him and his family at 139th in fall 2008.

He purchased the Bucs for a then NFL record $192 million in 1995, taking over one of the worst run and least successful franchises in professional sports. And while Glazer once said he Brandon Linder Youth Jersey probably overpaid by $50 million, the value of the team has more than quadrupled since he assumed control.

2014-Aug-13 01:18 - fast enough Wholesale

fast enough Wholesale NFL Jerseys for Stephen Colbert

Amazon has come up with a solution to a delivery service problem that has been bothering Colbert Report host Stephen Colbert all week possibly all year. I have to wait till tomorrow for my items to arrive, there goes tonight plans to watch Monday Night Football while doing backflips on my trampoline, Colbert complains, remarking on Amazon snail paced one day delivery service.

Thankfully, Amazon CEO and worm Cheap NFL Jerseys Jeff Bezos has offered up a solution to this non problem problem: drones that can deliver packages 30 minutes after an order is placed.

But Colbert remains unimpressed. products to our doorsteps inside of half an hour is a bold plan right out of science fiction. That leaves me with only one question: why does it take so long? the mantra of his fellow red blooded Americans, Colbert exclaims, want my stuff now, and I know how to get it! on your future hat, Jeff Bezos! he continues. I cooked up an idea that will bring buying as we know it to a new level. the idea: Amazon locations that customers can walk into and buy things. She's nominated in both categories again, but Season 2 was a far less universally accessible thing; it went, in its 2013 season, from a show addressing the general malaise of Greenpoint post grads to an exploration of a very particular protagonist. She also wrote for the New Yorker a lot. Russell's comedy "Silver Linings Playbook." In 2013, she played to her strengths: After winning an Oscar, she starred in the second "Hunger Games" movie, on whose publicity tour she managed to charm everyone in America, and had another role in a David O. Russell comedy, "American Hustle," for which she might just win ANOTHER Oscar. By 2014, she may end up running a major studio, or serving as president.
